Why don’t you just use ChatGPT to create your training program?
First, the current state of daily-use AI presents frequent inaccuracies and hallucinations. While it can offer some creative suggestions and help with a preliminary diagnosis, without fully understanding your athletic history and life circumstances, it cannot accommodate specific needs or anticipate progress. It can actually come up with a workout completely inappropriate for what you ought to be doing on any given day—but at least it does it with a dollop of flattery!
Unlike AI, a human coach is not just a source of information, they are a dynamic decision-maker who interprets your training, your body, your psychology, and your long-term development in ways that AI cannot fully replicate.
Training isn’t linear. Stress, sleep, emotional load, injury history, nutritional status, and hormonal fluctuations all influence performance. A coach integrates these variables and adjusts your plan with nuance that no algorithm can capture.
The coach–athlete relationship is part of training. Trust, communication, and friendship drive growth, and progress in fields where we need to fine tune development requires psychological support. Motivation, resilience, confidence, and regulation are central to mastery. Accountability and human connection significantly improve adherence and long-term development.
A human coach knows what questions to ask and what behavioral cues to look for to tailor your training to you as an individual. They have human experience to guide them.
AI is a tool. But it cannot substitute what a knowledgeable and experienced human coach delivers. This is exactly why JigStrong's One-on-One Coaching prioritizes the human element.
